Go slow with Empathic Communication

It's a beutiful winter day here in the North hemisphere. Sun glittering on the white snow is simply calling out for skiing.  

While out there, I admired untouched white snow fields and prepared myself enjoying sliding over to the other side. Yet, snow was deeper than I expected, I was rushing unnessessarily and as a result, my skiis got stuck in deep snow and I fell in full length. Fortunately soft snow pampered the fall and not much damage happened to my body. Just a light shock.

​This reminded me the importance of going really slow while beginning to study and practice Empathic Communication. It takes time, care and persistency to replace lifetime long  communication habits with more life-serving ones. Therefore, it's really important to slow down and go with baby-steps. 

​Otherwise, we may cause more damage to our relationships, and risk loosing others' trust that our goal is connection and we truly care for their needs as much as for our own.
