“The key to fostering connection in the face of a ‘no’ is always ‘yes’ to something else … Hear the ‘Yes’ behind the ‘No’.” Marshall B. Rosenberg. developer of NVC
What happens when “No” no longer feels like rejection, pressure, guilt, or conflict?
In this short experiential course, we explore one of the most challenging — and liberating — practices in Nonviolent Communication: giving and receiving “No” with compassion.
Together we will practice:
saying “No” clearly and honestly,
receiving a “No” with dignity, openness, and gratitude,
staying connected even when needs differ,
moving from fear-based relating toward needs-conscious, heart-connected relationships.
This is not about techniques for being “nice.” It is about building the capacity for authentic connection, self-respect, and emotional freedom.
In these 3 sessions, we will explore:
Why “No” can feel so activating
The difference between rejection and unmet needs
Compassionate honesty without blame or withdrawal
How to hear the needs behind a “No”
Practices for trust, boundaries, and relational resilience
No previous NVC experience needed. Come as you are — with curiosity and an open heart.
