Why to Journal?


📝 Empathic Nonviolent Communication (ENVC)  journaling is a way to create a sacred space for connecting with yourself with care and compassion. It's a practice of regularly writing that goes beyond mere note-taking. A way to engage in honest self-reflection, self-expression, and self-awareness—an intimate dialogue with yourself that opens paths to deeper understanding, insights, healing, and transformation, while strengthening relationships grounded in love and trust.

✍️ I recommend handwriting for your ENVC journal. Handwriting engages multiple brain systems and hand–eye coordination, creating stronger memory pathways, and supporting deeper processing of thoughts that helps to access what truly matters. It also provides a tactile, sensory experience with fewer distractions.

This makes handwriting particularly effective for deep reflection, emotional processing, self-connection, self-expression, and self-construction within ENVC practice.

🧠 Regular handwriting may also support brain health and healthy aging by reinforcing brain structure and function, and it may help protect against cognitive decline over time.

ENVC Journaling can be structured or free writing.

In our bi-weekly Sacred Journaling Space, we offer prompts and reflections to guide your thinking, deepen insight, and focus on specific themes or questions. At the same time, you’re welcome to engage in free writing on whatever feels most alive for you in that moment.

🌷Journaling is a gentle yet powerful way to practice your ENVC skills in a safe, supportive environment, deepen your understanding of its core concepts, and integrate ENVC awareness into your daily life through writing.

How Does Sacred Journaling Space Look Like?

​
  • Quiet zoom space for meeting others in community, taking time to explore your inner world,  ​keep your ENVC spirit alive, deepen your skills and integrate these to your life.  
 
  • The first 10 minutes are a space for questions and guidance around ENVC journaling. Thereafter, there are 30 minutes for quiet individual reflections and writing. At the end, we set aside 5 minutes for celebrations and sharing.
​
  • You can use the Sacred Journaling Space as a Monday check-in to nourish and ground yourself, build emotional resilience, gain inner clarity, and prepare emotionally for the week ahead.
​
  • Bring your notebook and favourite pens, and let's write to our heart's content.💖
