I took the Empathic Communication course, levels one and two, in two successive years at summer camps in Europe. His Holiness Bir Krishna Goswami was the instructor. While I found the first course interesting and intriguing, it was the second course that had a big impact on my life and service. By connecting with my own feelings and needs, and then connecting with the feelings and needs of others, I found giving guidance and help to others energizing me instead of being depleting. There became a common ground between me and others on both a theological and practical level, regardless of the differences in culture, upbringing, and point of view. It became easier to help others help themselves rather than prescribing solutions. By separating objective facts from interpretation, a kind of peaceful and stable detachment naturally follows. I highly recommend this book and course for anyone who would like to expand their "techniques of spiritual life".

Due to Empathic Communication, I realized that trying to fix others is in the mode of passion, but being present and listening to them empathically brings one to the mode of goodness and creates a mutually nourishing connection on the heart level. Thanks to His Holiness Bir Krishna Goswami's EC seminar in 2021 in Slovenia, I am interested in further studying and practicing Empathic Communication.

EC course was useful for me to understand deeper myself and others, get more ideas and practical tools on how to better deal with myself and others, and become a better servant of Krishna and devotees.
This was especially powerful in connection to the practical experience of preaching and management I had during my service as a TP and TC. Also, concerning deeper studies of SP books I undergo during the bhakti-vaibhava course, many interactions with different devotees, and very structurised studies in Srila Bhakti Vijnana Goswami's japa-meditation school. Altogether, it helped me a lot to understand better and get practical realizations of topics we discussed in EC.
Most important for me were topics about feelings end emotions. Mainly that they always point out some needs behind them and have their unique space and value in people's lives. And also about different cultures, how to deal with people, and the result of that.
I liked we took it step-by-step, so a whole new world opened and became relevant to me. Thanks very much to all the participating devotees, especially to Mataji Madhuri Radhika, who organized and led our sessions. I would like to go on practicing it in association with like-minded devotees.
