“When we combain Observation
with Evaluation,
people are apt to hear criticism .”

Marshall B. Rosenberg

Observing without Evaluating - the Highest Form of Human Intelligence

"For most of us, it is difficult to make observations, especially of people and their behavior, that are free of judgement, criticism, or other form of analysis." M.B. Rosenberg, Nonviolent Communication - a Language of Life

Why is it important to separate observation from evaluation?

Because when we mix up observations with evaluations, others tend to hear criticism, and resist what we are saying.
It's not always easy to shed our old habits of judging, criticising, comparing etc and master the ability to separate observation from evaluation. Here the practice is our best alley.

Practice:
Observations in the Service of Self-connection.
